Christiaan Partridge, the Photographer.
I am an amateur photographer who first started about 4 years ago by attending a landscape photography course in order to learn how to get full use out of my then new Nikon D40x digital SLR. Since then, I have never looked back. I enjoy spending my time in the British countryside, we have so much variety on our doorsteps. I try to do most of my work out in the field on the camera, rather than using editing software to get things right. I currently use a Nikon D300 camera, my workhorse lens is a Sigma 10-20mm Wide-Angle, and to get the best results, a tripod, remote release and the Lee ND filters.
I produced a 2010 Calendar from my images for a small commercial firm and have recently sold 5 images to a local art collector. My base is East Anglia, but have travelled around Britain, mainly getting the opportunity to take pictures on the landscape courses I attend, as I have a busy day job and a wife and 2 small children.
A lot of my inspiration comes from not just the countryside itself but viewing the work of other photographers, favourites being Joe Cornish and Harry Cory Wright. My thanks for all his help and advice over past few years to Garry Brannigan, whose excellent courses and images can be seen via www.thedigitaldawn.com.
